London health and care experts have blasted the double blow of further adult social care cuts and the additional £40m hit to public health budgets that will hit the capital.
Sarah Sturrock, strategic lead for health and adult services with London Councils, said it was ‘disappointing to be faced with not one but two blows' to the capital's prevention and early intervention strategy last week.
Ms Sturrock said last week's ADASS budget survey, which revealed £1.1bn savings in adult social care will be made this year, would not only affect the number and scale of care packages, but also deliver 6% cuts to spending on prevention.
