London Councils is urging ministers to update housing allowance rates annually to provide better support for low-income tenants in the private rented sector.

London Councils is urging ministers to update housing allowance rates annually to provide better support for low-income tenants in the private rented sector. 

New research, carried out by the umbrella organisation representing London's borough councils, claims private rented housing stock in the capital is fast reducing and the overwhelming number of properties are not affordable to people on low incomes.
