London Councils lobby MPs over 'complex' finance Bill

London Councils has asked the Government to reconsider funding proposals it claims are 'overly complex' and economically harmful.

London Councils - an umbrella group representing the capital's 33 local authorities – has asked the Government to reconsider funding proposals it claims are 'overly complex' and economically harmful.

Writing to MPs ahead of tomorrow's second reading debate of the local government Finance Bill, the policy and lobbying group says the planned system - which would come into force in April 2013 - denies local areas the freedom they need to develop their local business base.
