London's council leaders have written to their MPs urging Parliament to help protect the capitals' public services, ahead of the imminent local government finance settlement.

Elected leaders from the three main political parties in London have calculated the capital faces a grant reduction of £1.5bn over the next four years, if Whitehall proceeds with its Comprehensive Spending Review plan to slash council grants by 27%.
