Central Government needs to have a ‘proper conversation' on public sector funding and put councils on a sustainable footing for the future, London Councils chair, Cllr Peter John, has told The MJ.

Speaking ahead of the London Summit today, Cllr John said London local government faced a further £2bn cuts in the next four years without extra funding in the Spending Review, on top of £4bn of cuts between 2010 and 2020.
