Lord Porter calls for 80/20 split of business rate to be reversed

Local Government Association chairman, Lord Porter, has dismissed district council claims that they should maintain an 80% share of business rates as 'not viable'.

Local Government Association chairman, Lord Porter, has dismissed district council claims that they should maintain an 80% share of business rates as 'not viable'. 

Speaking at the County Councils Network conference in Guildford today, Lord Porter said: 'We are going to have to do some sort of deal with the district councils.'
