Losing out at the Olympics

Sport seems to have been relegated to second place in the London Olympics debate, says Claire Fox.

Whatever your opinion of the London Olympics' opening ceremony – I was on the 'it was a great show, stop worrying about the politics' side, Les Mis isn't the French Revolution either, but it's still great entertainment – it really isn't the important part of the games.

The legacy of London 2012 won't be flying Mary Poppins or parachuting Queens, any more than it will be the daft and misconceived Wenlock and Mandeville mascots.
