A Kent town council has insisted its copy of the Magna Carta is ‘not for sale, and never has been' after reports that councillors may be about to consider selling it.

Faversham town councillor Kris Barker said: ‘We have been working with the residents of Faversham on a consultation of what to do with the town hall.
