Former local government secretary Greg Clark is still missed by many in the sector and judging by a recent interview he gave to the Institute for Government he still misses it himself, calling it a ‘dream job.'

Mr Clark, however, began his climb up the ministerial greasy pole as decentralisation minister based within the then Department for Communities and Local Government, where he later expanded his role to become cities minister.
