Managers leave Shetland Isles Council

Chief executive, Alistair Buchan, has confirmed that eight managers are to leave Shetland Islands Council.

Chief executive, Alistair Buchan, has confirmed that eight managers are to leave Shetland Islands Council over the next few months, as part of the first phase of the management restructuring process. This will save around £500,000 a year.

The managers are executive director education and social care, Hazel Sutherland; head of roads, Ian Halcrow; building services manager, David Williamson; emergency planning and resilience manager, John Taylor; community work manager, Bill Crook; community care resources manager, Wolfgang Weis; library and information services manager, Silvija Crook; and transport planning and support manager, Billy Thompson.
