Three Greater Manchester authorities have come under fire for paying their chief executives salaries equivalent to ten times the Living Wage, while denying this suggested minimum wage threshold to their lowest paid staff.
Local pay campaign groups have issued figures indicating Bury, Wigan and Trafford councils pay some employees below the Manchester Minimum Wage of £7.85 an hour.
Trafford MBC chief Theresa Grant and Wigan MBC chief Donna Hall both earn £165,000 salaries while interim Bury Council chief executive Mike Owen is understood to have an annual pay package worth £152,286.
