Government plans to overhaul energy generation won't deliver swift enough investment in developing low-carbon alternatives, Prospect, the civil service professionals trade union has claimed.

Outlined in the draft energy Bill published yesterday, the proposed new strategy and policy statement set out the government's intention to introduce long-term contracts for suppliers to guarantee energy supplies.
