The London Assembly has called for clarity in the mayor’s strategic role for the health of Londoners, particularly in relation to public health and emergency planning.

In its response to the Department of Health's consultation paper on reforming the National Health Service, the assembly also proposed steps to make the capital's ambulance service more accountable to the mayor.
