A shrinking of the UK economy by 0.5% in the last quarter reflects what Nottingham City Council has witnessed in its own community.

Cllr Jon Collins, leader of Nottingham City Council, said the news was a result of the Government's ‘unwise' austerity measures. He said: ‘In Nottingham, the Government has taken back £1 in every £6 we had to spend. This money would've protected jobs, put money in the local economy and boosted confidence.'
