Opponents of the Government's health reforms have stepped up their campaign, with warnings over the potential long-term damage the move could cause.

The British Medical Association (BMA) raised concerns following shadow health secretary Andy Burnham's speech at last week's Labour Party conference, in which he urged the prime minister to put the plans on hold, and give the National Health Service (NHS) stability.
