If Jackie Weaver thought Handforth meetings could get a bit tetchy, spare a thought for the good folk at Fontana Council in California.

At meetings of the city council in Los Angeles last week, seven arrests were made amid soaring tensions over new street vending regulations, zoning charges for warehouses and… plans to change council meeting times from 7pm to 2pm, when many people are still at work.
