Brandon Lewis has welcomed plans for three housing associations to merge and launch their own training academy as ‘exactly' what similar organisations should be doing.

The Hyde Group, L&Q and East Thames announced plans last week to merge into a single association and build 100,000 new homes across London and the South East.
