Merton 'fair' on the homeless

The Audit Commission has graded homelessness services at Merton LBC to ‘fair' with promising prospects for improvement.

Lead inspector Hugh Boatswain said there was good access to the service and applicants are given realistic housing options without having to go into temporary accommodation. But inspectors also found that the overall quality of temporary accommodation was low.
