Mid-sized cities are ready to push for enhanced growth

The Key Cities Group's latest report calls on the UK and devolved governments to work more closely with mid-sized cities. They stand ready, willing and able to lead the push for enhanced growth and social mobility, says Cllr Peter Box

In times of fast-paced and unprecedented change, places that stand still fall behind. The response to unprecedented change and challenges must be characterised by action and delivery, which cannot just be led by national governments. City leaders know their area and the potential of their area better than any London-based Minister or civil servant. Successful cities will be the foundation for a thriving United Kingdom in the post-Brexit era.
