Croydon LBC has agreed to go ahead with a milestone £1.4bn regeneration scheme in partnership with Australia-based retail developer Westfield Corp and British property developer Hammerson.

As part of the scheme, the Whitgift and Centrale centre in Croydon will be replaced by a Westfield shopping complex, which will include 300 new shops, restaurants, cafes and other entertainment venues, creating 7,000 jobs and 1,000 homes.
