Minister cites international politics for reorganisation delays

Local government minister Baroness Sharon Taylor has cited geopolitical uncertainty as a potential blocker to council reorganisation being completed for authorities beyond devolution priority areas.

Local government minister Baroness Sharon Taylor has cited geopolitical uncertainty as a potential blocker to council reorganisation being completed for authorities beyond devolution priority areas.

Speaking to delegates at the District Councils' Network conference near Windsor, she said Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) ministers would ‘endeavour' to come out of the upcoming Spending Review with ‘a package that enables what we need to do'.
