Community health and care minister David Mowat has ducked making any pledges for more cash for the adult care sector, despite a stream of recent reports warning of a funding crunch.

Speaking at the National Adult and Children's Services conference, Mr Mowat said he acknowledged 'the deep crisis and that it's a sector under pressure' but added: 'I can't say what's in the Autumn Statement. We understand in government that this sector is under pressure. One of my roles is to be an advocate for the social care sector.'
