Health secretary, Andrew Lansley, met with council leaders and NHS chiefs, staff and patients in Aylesbury to discuss preparations for a pioneering health and wellbeing board.

One of 134 early implementers, in May, Buckinghamshire CC set up a shadow board to serve in an advisory form until it assumes, subject to legislation, statutory powers by April 2013.
