Minister's pledge for fairer school funding

Schools minister David Laws has pledged to make schools funding fairer in the next Parliament.

Schools minister David Laws has pledged to make schools funding fairer in the next Parliament, with changes to formulas for special educational needs and early years pupils.

In a written ministerial statement, Mr Laws said following a consultation on how money is currently distributed, the Government will be giving 69 local areas will get a total of £390m in additional funding, which is £40m more than he announced originally in March.
