Local government and Northern Powerhouse minister James Wharton has urged his constituents to boycott one of his local newspapers in a row over political bias.

The Stockton South MP took to Facebook last week, after the Northern Echo published an editorial, which claimed he ‘refuses point blank to have anything to do' with the newspaper and its reporters.
