Minister urges councils to hand firms Easter tax break

Local government minister Bob Neill has written to every council in England urging them to give local firms an Easter tax break.

Local government minister Bob Neill has written to every council in England urging them to give local firms an Easter tax break.

Mr Neill said the Government had doubled business rate relief for two and a half years, so the average benefit is now around £1,650, and the Localism Act had given councils new powers to offer additional discounts.
