For elite politicians, rational, democratic and forward-looking experiments such as the four-day week experiment at South Cambridgeshire DC, pose a threat, says Professor Jonathan Davies.

Why is Lee Rowley MP, parliamentary under secretary of State at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities trying to force South Cambridgeshire DC to abandon its four-day week experiment?

As the council itself has amply demonstrated, this has nothing to do with efficiency or value for money. So, what is going on?
