Ministers agree to slash number of N Ireland councils

Stormont ministers have announced plans to cut the number of councils in Northern Ireland to 11 by 2015.

Stormont ministers have announced plans to cut the number of councils in Northern Ireland to 11 by 2015.

The DUP and Sinn Fein delivered a draft ‘Programme for government' last week, which included plans to reduce the number of councils from 26 to 11 within the next four years.
