Ministers consider 'additional body storage capacity' amid coronavirus outbreak

The Government has drawn up plans to provide nearly 200 buildings with a combined capacity for about 15,000 bodies as the spread of coronavirus intensifies.

The Government has drawn up plans to provide nearly 200 buildings with a combined capacity for about 15,000 bodies as the spread of coronavirus intensifies.

With the number of Covid-19 cases in the UK now exceeding 270, ministers have been considering whether to secure ‘additional body storage capacity' to ‘help meet some of the pressure likely to arise if there is a severe pandemic in the UK'.
