Ministers are considering expanding a successful scheme to bring together roads infrastructure providers.

Ministers are considering expanding a successful scheme to bring together roads infrastructure providers in order to improve the quality and governance of a wider range of local public projects.

The MJ understands there is snowballing Whitehall support for the expansion of a roads spending efficiency drive – known as the highways maintenance efficiency programme (HMEP) – currently aimed at reducing the multibillion-pound cost of fixing potholes.
