Ministers working to reduce winter travel disruption

DfT admits more still needs to be done to ensure the resilience of the UK’s transport network from winter weather threats.

More still needs to be done to ensure the resilience of the UK's transport network to the threats of severe winter weather, the Government said today.

The Department for Transport (DfT) confirmed regular monitoring of salt stocks had been established to ensure early identification of possible risks, while a cross-Whitehall working group is considering the case for increased investment in winter resilience.
