Ministers set to reject social care trust plans

Local Government minister Jim McMahon has already ruled out giving mayors responsibility for children's and adults services as part of plans to maintain economies of scale on care, while creating unitaries small enough to be local.

Suggestions of trusts have now also been dismissed, with a well-placed Whitehall insider telling The MJ: ‘I don't think anyone is a fan of children's trusts.'
