The sector's relationship with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has improved over recent years.

Now, with yet another new secretary of state (the third in three years), MHCLG officials plan to carefully pore over every word in James Brokenshire's speech to next month's Local Government Association conference to make sure it goes down better than Sajid ‘cold bucket of sick' address.
