Mole Valley DC has just presented the Freedom of the District to former councillor, Ben Tatham, in recognition of the 41 years' eminent service he has given to the community, Mole Valley DC and the former Urban District of Dorking, as an Mole Valley DC councillor.

Mr Tatham was first elected to the ex-Dorking authority in 1970. He served on that council until Mole Valley DC was established in 1973, and was a member of the council from that date until he stood down from the council in May 2011.
