Money matters

We seem to be dealing with the housing crisis in the same fashion that we are approaching renewing our nuclear power stations, writes Peter Stuart, president of the Society of District Council Treasurers

‘Solving the housing crisis' is the phrase on everyone's lips right now but for some reason we seem to be dealing with it in the same fashion that we are approaching renewing our nuclear power stations; that is, get someone else to deal with it. 

I'm not advocating that we get the Chinese State to build Brandon Lewis a million new houses but surely putting such an infrastructure deficit (as that is what housing could and should be seen as) in the sole hands of private contractors makes just about as much sense.
