Most people 'unaware' of looming police vote

Less than one-quarter of voters are aware of ballots taking place in a year's time for elected police commissioners.

Less than one-quarter of voters are aware that ballots for elected police commissioners will take place in a year's time, according to new research from the Local Government Association (LGA).

An opinion poll undertaken by ComRes for the LGA, shows that just 23% of voters are aware that elections for Britain's first elected police chiefs will be held in November 2012 – although 69% of people said they would vote.
