Rotherham MBC's shamed children's services' director, Joyce Thacker, should have her pay-off clawed back, according to an influential MP.

The former director was handed £40,000 as part of a mutual agreement with the council, which Rotherham claimed was ‘less than the contractual notice requirement'. Home affairs select committee chairman, Keith Vaz, said: ‘I am astounded that taxpayers' money has been used in what will be seen as a reward for Rotherham MBC's failures.
