Opposition MPs this week challenged the Government's housing record, claiming house-building levels had shrunk Whitehall since the coalition took office.

Citing figures issued by the DCLG, Labour's local government team claimed 36,180 housing completions were achieved per quarter prior to May 2010, compared with 26,260 per quarter since.
