An influential cross-party group of MPs this week backed government plans for High Speed Rail 2 (HS2).

An influential cross-party group of MPs this week backed government plans for High Speed Rail 2 (HS2).

The Commons transport select committee supported linking London and major cities of the Midlands, the North and Scotland by high-speed rail, stating it could provide ‘substantial improvements in capacity and connectivity' for travel between urban centres.
