MPs to study councils' use of property assets

Councils' use of property assets will be scrutinised by a Parliamentary inquiry examining how they can boost economies.

Local government's use of property assets, collectively worth £250bn, will be scrutinised by a Parliamentary inquiry examining how such holdings could be used to unlock development and boost economic growth.

The all party urban development group (APUDG), in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers, is to analyse barriers to growth that exist at the local level and make recommendations suggesting how councils could use property assets more effectively.
