MPs from the Commons communities and local government Committee have praised the Local Government Ombudsman's (LGO's) ‘positive response' to a highly critical report on its operations.

In July the group of MPs urged the LGO to improve its performance in providing redress for public complaints about local services amid concerns the body was taking far too long to determine some cases.
