Muted reaction to resignation a worrying sign

Levelling up minister Dehenna Davison's reasons for resigning are understandable, but is there a danger local government has given up hope of anything emanating from Marsham Street anytime soon to alleviate the challenges it faces, asks Paul Marinko.

Levelling up minister Dehenna Davison surprised the sector this week with news of her resignation from the Government.

Ms Davison said ‘chronic migraine' had made it ‘impossible' for her to do the job and we wish her well. But it is a little disappointing that the unexpected resignation of a local government minister these days only elicits a little surprise.
