A top award has been given to the Municipal Year Book for its new CD-ROM containing thousands of names and contact details from local authorities.

The CD-ROM was designed by MYB new media manager Caroline Hancock who said: ‘We wanted to provide a quick and easy method to access and cross-reference the information in the book. It took five months to conceive and develop and was produced last November with the new MYB.' The CD-ROM has received the Directory and Database Publishers Association Award for Best CD-ROM Directory 2000. The citation said it was ‘an excellent, intuitive directory'. All the CD-ROMS have sold out but the 2001 edition will be published in the autumn. MYB is produced by Hemming Information Services which also publishes MJ.
