#MyTown - a southern perspective

There is a real risk of ministers overlooking areas in the South which are also in need of a leg up from Whitehall, says Corinne Day.

If there was a pound set aside for every time a government minister mentioned the phrase ‘level up' then the resources needed to invest in our regions would quickly be found.

Ever since the General Election, which saw the Conservatives win a majority after breaking new ground in the Midlands and the North, there have been daily headlines on how there is to be a real shift in moving decision-making and capital away from London.
