National Audit Office (NAO) executive lead, Sue Higgins, has hit back at claims the organisation is too connected with ministers.

 In an interview with The MJ, Sir Michael Lyons claimed the NAO ‘has a direct connection with ministers and Parliament and is therefore much more centralist'.
