National Audit Office (NAO) executive leader for local services Sue Higgins will be stepping down at the end of the month to take up the post of auditor general in the Cayman Islands.

Ms Higgins, who was the first woman president of the Society of Municipal Treasurers, joined the NAO in January 2014 from the Department for Communities and Local Government where she was director general for finance and corporate services.
