The current administrators of the nationwide civil service pension scheme have suggested they could bring the same benefits to local government.

It has emerged that MyCSP, a joint venture between Whitehall and private sector company Equiniti, had approached the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and the Treasury with the idea of a national administration platform.
