A group of local authorities in the North East have published plans to join forces to help boost the regional economy and create jobs.

The LA7 leadership board, which includes Durham CC, Newcastle City Council and South Tyneside Council, said the authorities plan to work together on economic growth, transport and skills through a statutory body by spring 2014.
