The NHS is awash with money, yet apparently still broke

MJ editorial director Michael Burton attended the annual NHS Confed conference - where delegates moaned about flat budgets.

Anyone who doubts that the NHS is a multi-billion pound operation with cash pouring out of every orifice need just spend a day at the NHS Confederation annual conference as I did last week to realise that yes, its £110bn annual revenue is pretty hefty.

If this were a private sector trade show one could only say this sector was doing pretty darned well.  And yet apparently the NHS is bust.
