Applications for mandatory business rate relief from NHS trusts claiming they are charities are ‘unfounded,' the Local Government Association (LGA) has told councils.

The LGA reached the conclusion after seeking legal advice on behalf of a number of councils that had received applications from rating agent Daniel Kolinski.
